Sol and Kelan are enemies from opposite sides of a war that started years ago. Due to unforeseen circumstances they must depend on each other to survive. Together they will face many hardships that will have an effect on both sides of the war.
What I Liked about this book
- The concept - I loved the idea of the flameskin's and how their powers work.
- Kelan - He is my favourite character in this book. he is a complex character and is completely devoted to Sol.
- The world - even though this book is centered on the flameskin's there are other magical creatures at work as well. This book mainly focuses on explaining the world and setting the scene for the next book.
- The pacing of the book - the story seemed to jump from place to place very quickly in the second half of the book
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I would recommend this book to anyone who likes books such as Throne of Glass.
